High Performance 2D CAD for RISC OS
Since its
release in 1992, RiscCAD has been at the forefront of 2D CAD on RISC
OS. Programmed by a professional engineer, RiscCAD is packed with
features you need to bring accurate and fast CAD to RISC OS.
RiscCAD is equiped for a multitude of disciplines, ranging from
mechanical engineering, to architecture and electrical drafting.
RiscCAD
is more than just a CAD program. It allows the user to build a complete
CAD environment using pre-drawn symbols and templates. The built in
file picker allows previewing of RiscCAD drawings prior to loading.
Symbol libraries may be unlimited in size, and easily managed and
appended.
Utilities supplied
with RiscCAD allow integration with the outside world. RiscDRAW allows
draw file import and export, whilst RiscDXF provides comprehensive DXF
import/export. NetPlot
allows RiscCAD to drive up to 20 plotters on a network, with automatic
plot routing, and the ability to handle cut sheet or roll media, and to
work unsupervised on roll media plotters. RiscCAD incorporates a
programmable output driver allowing virtually any plotter to be driven.
ADVANCED FILL TOOL
Release 10 features
an advanced fill tool allowing complex
shapes to be filled with a multitude of patterns. The fill tool is
highly configurable and allows the user to select how islands within
the shape are
filled, including which rows and columns are filled and whether RiscCAD
is to
automatically detect the fill boundary.
Pattern Pack 1
extends the supplied fill library with over 150 new
pattern
fills, including Architectural, GIS, Building and many more.
New fills may be
drawn and easily added to the fill library. Users have the option to
create fill patterns at actual size, and then
use the drawing scale as the scale factor when filling the shape. This
removes the need to try several different pattern scales in order to
find the relevant scale.
All patterns may be previewed before use, and fills may be aborted
before completion if the fill settings require modification..
OUTLINE
FONTS

Release 10 uses the
RISC OS outline font manager, enabling professional
fonts to be used for both text and dimensions. Up to 255 different
fonts may be used in each drawing
In addition, font
outline paths may be created, and, if required, filled using the area
fill tool.
When creating text,
RiscCAD drags the font outline
with the cursor allowing the user to have instant visual feedback of
how the font will look when placed.
Fonts
already in use
on the drawing may be chosen from the new Existing fonts dialogue box.
BEZIER CURVES

Release 10 allows the
user to place Bezier curves consisting of
up to 120 sections. Control
points
may be hidden and curves may be edited by picking nodes or
control points. When editing, nodes may be added or removed.
Revision clouds of
various shapes may be created to highlight changes to a
drawing.
